About Us

Journey

Journey of Smit Gallery.

Our journey began in 2006 when we held a solo exhibition of photography at a renowned art gallery in Mumbai, NCPA, on the topic of forts and sea forts of Maharashtra. The exhibition was a huge success, and our photographs astounded everyone. The exhibition wall was adorned with 84 pictures of various forts and sea forts of Maharashtra. Out of the total images, a few were so distinctive that many people had never seen this angle before. As a result, the demand for these images was enormous.

Because we print only a limited number of copies of our images, there was an immense demand for our photographs. People at the exhibition were willing to pay thousands of rupees for that particular photograph, but we do not want to auction our art. Instead of merely bringing joy to one or two individuals, we decided to offer it to the masses, and so the photo frame library concept was created.

We discussed this idea with our near and dear, did a market analysis on it, and then the dream came into reality on June 7, 2008, when our first frame adorned the wall of our client. People started loving this concept, and accordingly, we also moved to our first rental premise at Eternity Mall in Thane. After gaining more than one and a half years of experience in shopping malls, we shifted to Mumbai at another rental store in Bhandup in April 2010.

Relationship

We believe in an effort-reward relationship

Our strong belief, efforts, teamwork, and support from clients have made it possible to add a real gem to our crown. Finally, we purchased our own gallery in 2017 at shop No. 3, Shree Laxmideep Society, Udayshree Society Road, Bhandup (east), Mumbai – 400042.

Today, we proudly say that we have an experience of more than 15 years in this business.
